How To Find All Secret Missions In Devil May Cry 5

Devil May Cry 5 has 20 main missions and 12 secret missions in total.

Secret missions are rather short missions that emphasize on different skills. You need to unlock them via the main story.

Here’s how you can get all secret missions in Devil May Cry 5.

How to unlock secret missions

Before we find out where each secret mission is located, here’s how you can unlock them. You’re basically looking for red engravings that form a symbol.

If you stand at the correct area where the symbol becomes whole, you will notice a red glowing thing on the ground.

Stand on it and look at the symbol. The symbol will light up and you will unlock the secret mission.

You can choose to do the mission immediately or access it later from the main menu.

Secret Mission 1

The first secret mission is pretty much pointed out to you.

During the main story itself, if you allowed tutorials, you will be taught how to access secret missions.

This secret mission is located inside the bedroom.

Secret Mission 2

The second Secret Mission can be found in Mission 3 (Flying Hunter) where you play as Nero.

Keep going until you reach the tunnel area where you have to keep destroying red blobs / cores to get rid of the Qliphoth roots.

After destroying the 3rd or 4th Qliphoth root, you should unlock a new pathway which leads to stairs. Just before the stairs, there’s an “Exit” sign on the door.

Get through that door and you will find stairs inside, and you need to jump to the lower floor. From the bottom, look up and you should find the secret mission.

Secret Mission 3

The third secret mission is in Mission 4 (V) where you play as V for the first time.

After the part where the bridge collapses, keep going until you reach this wide area with graffiti on the buildings (image below).

Spawn Nightmare here and he will break through that wall in front of you.

Nightmare will come out from the wall (image below).

Once the wall is down and the enemies are dead, go inside that building.

After going in, don’t go upstairs. On your right, you should see a pathway that ultimately leads to a Niddhog Hatchling. Grab the hatchling.

Once you’ve grabbed the Hatchling, get back to the main road and keep going until you find a blocked pathway (image below).

Use your Niddhog Hatchling to open the pathway.

After going inside the compound, there’s yet another blocked pathway. Use another Niddhog Hatchling to open the path.

You will then reach a building. Keep climbing up and jump over the Qliphoth roots to the highest floor.

From the top, you will see the secret mission symbol.

Secret Mission 4

The fourth secret mission is in Mission 5: The Devil Sword Sparda.

Once again, you’ll be using V. Keep going until you reach a yellow tractor here. There are wooden planks in front of the tractor.

Summon Nightmare and he will break through the wooden wall.

Get to the newly opened area and climb up. You will find the secret mission above.

Secret Mission 5

For the fifth secret mission, go to Mission 8: Demon King.

You will be using Nero. Keep going until you’re close to the end of the mission where you will encounter a blood vein for the second time.

It’s the one that flows upwards like lava, and you need to jump on a rock to go up.

This time, as you’re going up the blood vein, jump to the opposite platform (opposite where you’re supposed to go). If you’re supposed to go left, go right this time.

From that platform, you should be able to see a few floating targets that you can use. Use grim grip to get to the top of the platform.

Keep walking until you reach an area where you can see the secret mission above you.

Secret Mission 6

For the sixth secret mission, you need to join Mission 9: Genesis.

This time, you’re playing as V. Keep going until you reach the rhino-looking demon. Kill the demon and keep going forward.

You should see a gold orb at a dead end, but it’s blocked by rocks. Summon Nightmare and he will break the rocks as he appears.

Go to the newly opened area and keep walking forward. You should come across this entrance blocked by some Qliphoth roots (image below).

Once again, spawn Nightmare and he will break through the inside wall, which results in a core being destroyed, and eventually the roots will disappear.

Enter the compound and you should see the secret mission inside, if you stand near the blue orb fragment.

Secret Mission 7

For the seventh secret mission, you need to join Mission 10: Awaken.

You’ll be using Dante. Keep going all the way, until you finally reach an area with two spiky door entrances.

Use the door that leads to these steep stairs (image below).

Keep going up until Dante says that there might be something here. Look up and you’ll find the secret mission.

Secret Mission 8

The eight secret mission can be found in Mission 11: Reason.

You need to reach the inside of a building where you’re required to destroy red cores to kill the Qliphoth roots.

After destroying the first red core / blob, the building will move. Keep climbing up as high as you can until you reach this area (image below).

From that floor, you can see the secret mission.

Secret Mission 9

The ninth secret mission is unlocked in Mission 12: Yamato.

Get to the statue area where you have to fill all pools of blood. After filling the pools, the entrance below the statue opens.

Go down below and walk for awhile. You should reach some stairs.

Look behind you and you’ll see a platform. You need to jump to that particular platform. You’ll probably need the air-hike skill to reach the platform.

From the platform, look towards the main route and you’ll see the secret mission.

Secret Mission 10

The tenth secret mission can be unlocked in Mission 14: Diverging Point: V. This one may not be that obvious.

Keep going until you’re reaching the end of the mission. It’s right before you meet the Succubus in a cutscene.

There’s a walkway and the secret mission is right above you.

Secret Mission 11

The eleventh secret mission is found in Mission 15: Diverging Point: Nero.

You’ll be using Nero this time. Keep going until you reach the first statue where you can “customize”.

Behind the statue, there’s a walkway going downwards. You will reach this area (image below) where you have to use Punch Line to glide.

To mount Punch Line, click on L3 once and it will shoot out as a rocket, jump (or double jump) and immediately hold L3. Nero will automatically mount the Punch Line Devil Breaker.

Keep gliding upwards (move left and right) and you’ll meet more demons. Kill the demons and glide further up.

At one point, you should be able to see the blue orb fragment on a platform above you.

You don’t need to go up. You will see the secret mission in that area.

Secret Mission 12

The twelfth and last secret mission is found in Mission 16: Diverging Point: Dante.

To find the secret mission, keep jumping downwards and killing the demons, and you should reach this area after your 2nd battle (image below).

Based on the image below, you should see a cave opposite of you. Just ignore the opposite cave. Jump all the way down, and you will have your 3rd battle.

The 3rd battle should have some spiky lizard demons and a super fast lizard.

After the third battle, you will reach this area (image below). If you look below without falling, you should be able to catch a glimpse of a red orb tree at one of the edges.

If possible, jump directly to that platform with the red orb tree (instead of the big platform you see below).

You can actually disregard the image below. If you had jumped from the top through the edge, you would have landed at the same platform as the red orb tree.
